The department responds to all reports of fire and/or medical aid working in support of the Seattle Fire Department.

What We Do

The Seattle Central College Public Safety Officers do not have arrest authority, but they work closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Public Safety Officers have the authority to ask persons for identification and determine if the individual has lawful business on Campus property.

The Public Safety Department maintains a professional working relationship with the Seattle Police Department (SPD), which has jurisdiction on the Campus; all criminal incidents are referred to the Seattle Police Department for investigations and follow–up. All crime victims and witnesses are strongly encouraged to immediately report any crime to Seattle Central College Security Department and the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Prompt reporting will assure timely warning notices on–campus and timely disclosure of crime statistics.
