How to determine your GPA

  1. Determine the decimal grade which has been assigned to each class.
  2. Determine the number of credit hours assigned to each class.
  3. Multiply the decimal grade you received by the number of credit hours assigned to each course. This gives you your "grade points" (GPTS) for each course.
  4. Add together the total number of grade points received for the quarter.
  5. Add the total number of credit hours for all courses for the quarter.
  6. Divide the total grade points received for the quarter by the total number of credit hours for the quarter. This gives you your quarterly Grade Point Average (GPA).
  7. Take the total number of grade points received for ALL quarters and divide by the total number of credit hours received for ALL quarters. This gives you your cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).

*Note: Always use "*GPA CR" which represents ALL credits earned at Seattle Central. The "CR ERN" column is the total of all college–level credits earned. Many students have taken preparatory classes under the 100 level which are not considered college-level, but DO count when computing grade point average.
