How to Apply
Begin your financial aid application process here. The Seattle Central Financial Aid Office is dedicated to helping students discover financial resources to help pay for college. For your convenience we've outlined the process in 3 essential easy–to–follow steps. Be sure to complete these steps before the financial aid deadline for the quarter you would like to apply.
Step 1: Apply for Admissions
To qualify for financial aid, you should be enrolled in 12 or more credits. You may still be eligible for financial aid with fewer than 12 credits, but most grants require that you be registered for 6 or more credits.
If you are taking fewer than 12 credits, please contact the Financial Aid Office immediately after registration to avoid delays in receiving your financial aid. You are responsible for any issues resulting from not following the application directions or missing the application deadline.
Step 2: Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form
- FAFSA on the Internet
File your FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov
- Paper FAFSA
Call the Federal Processor at 1.800.433.3243 to request a paper FAFSA. It will take 4–6 weeks to process.
Seattle Central Federal (Title IV) School Code is 003787
Please include this in your application to ensure that your information is sent to Seattle Central. Within approximately a week you should receive an email with a link to your Student Aid Report (SAR).
Step 3: Respond to your "Required Actions" Notification
- After you receive your Student Aid Report (SAR), you will receive a letter from the Financial Aid Office. Read it thoroughly and carefully—the letter states what additional documents are required to complete your filing
- View your file status and upload documents in the Financial Aid Portal
- Be sure to complete all 3 steps before your deadline
