Peer Mentors
Peer Mentors are student leaders who help new students feel welcomed, supported, and confident during their first year at Seattle Central. They work alongside instructors in first-year courses and serve as guides to campus life, resources, and student success.
What Peer Mentors Do

Support HDC 101 & FYLC classes by participating in discussions and activities

Offer guidance on navigating college life, time management, and campus systems

Connect students to campus and community resources

Host occasional social or educational activities for first-year students

Collaborate with instructors and the FYCS team to build an inclusive learning environment

Hold office hours to meet with students individually

Help staff the FYCS office and assist with welcoming new students during orientation
How Peer Mentors Support You
Peer Mentors are available in classes, online, and in the FYCS office to answer questions, share experiences, and connect you with the people and services that can help you succeed.
