Program Specific Tutoring

TRiO Student Support Services

Students enrolled in this program can receive tutoring in English, writing, English as a Second Language (ESL), math, computers, biology, chemistry and business.

Basic & Transitional Studies (BTS)

The Basic Studies Volunteer Tutoring Program provides individual and small group tutoring for students enrolled in Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED® and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

  • Students are matched with a tutor for the duration of the quarter and meet for one to three hours each week.
  • Drop-in tutoring is available on a first-come, first-served basis Mon-Fri from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Students can request to meet with a tutor during the following times:
    • 9 am. to 6 p.m. (M-Th)
    • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Fri)

 

Seattle Central Institute of English (SCIE)

SCIE Tutoring is offered by SCIE instructors who can assist with speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar skills. 

  • Appointments can be made using Starfish, or in-person at the BE Learning Center (BE 2102)
  • Tutoring is held in the BE Learning Center and through the LSN Zoom room
  • Ask your instructors for more information regarding quarterly schedule information
  • Tutoring is available at the following times:
