SAM Learning Center – Winter QTR 2021
Remote Operations Updates: Tutoring in the SAM Learning Center is by drop-in. All tutoring will be conducted remotely, via our Zoom account. To view tutor drop-in schedules, find the Zoom meeting password, login to your Starfish account and then select the “Sam Learning Center” Service or login to Canvas and select the “Online Tutoring Centers - Seattle Central".
- Dates of operation: MON Jan 11th – FRI Mar 18th (No tutoring MON Jan 18th or MON Feb 15th)
- Hours of operation: MON-THURS: 10AM-6PM, FRI 10AM-5PM
- Emails and Voicemails (see below for contact info) answered daily

Here’s what you’ll need for your Zoom drop-in session:
- A computer/laptop/tablet with audio capability and video camera
- Reliable WiFi access
- Possible headphones with microphone (if you’re in a public space)
- We encourage you select a quiet place/room to have your tutor Zoom session, if possible, where you will likely not be interrupted

Student tutors, frequently assisted by science and math faculty, provide help in specific subjects:
- Math
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Computer science
- Engineering
- Statistics
Open Computer Lab
Location: Remote operations only
Monday - Friday 2 pm - 5 pm
Computers are available for students who need assistance with online assignments. Students can work independently or engage a tutor in this area for help with computer-based work. Computer Science and Statistics students are encouraged to use this space for studying or for tutor questions.
Math Path
Location: Remote operations only Monday-Friday 1 pm - 5 pm Type of assistance: Drop-in Math Path study sessions provide support with understanding key skills and concepts, and help students develop study habits to become successful independent learners. Drop-in study sessions are available for students enrolled in the following courses:
