About Me
Hi, my name is Andrea (she/her), I am a neurodivergent Filipino woman, daughter of immigrants, and a child of the diaspora. Born and raised on Duwamish and Coast Salish land (aka Seattle), I completed an Associates of Arts at Highline College, transferred to the University of Washington Seattle to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and returned to the UW several years later to obtain a Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in Community-Centered Integrative Practice (graduated as of June 2022!).
I have experience in the fields of behavioral health, criminal/legal system, gender-based violence and higher education. I am no stranger to Seattle Central – I was the Counseling Center’s first program coordinator in 2018 and transitioned to a part-time hourly role once starting grad school in 2020. Since graduating with an MSW, I have been working as an advocate with domestic violence survivors at a local org and will continue that work alongside this role as an interim First Year and Career Services Advisor.
When not at work, I enjoy learning about digital illustration, making random crafts, learning Tagalog, engaging in community organizing with the local Filipino community.
