Communications

Below is an archive of emails sent to the ASL Consortium. For questions, please contact the Dean of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences Jaime Cardenas, PhD: jaime.cardenas@seattlecolleges.edu

Greetings. I'd like to share an update with you about the ASL Consortium. As you may remember, about a year ago, Seattle Central College (SCC) decided to enter a hiatus in its management of the Consortium. While the hiatus continues, I can report that SCC's Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences division will be able to process your students' ASL high school credit to see if they receive SCC credit for ASL I and/or ASL II. These will be students who take classes during 23-24 taught by high school teachers who are already part of the Consortium.

My division will do this processing of credit in April and May of 2024.

At this point, SCC is still exploring how to admit new high school instructors into the Consortium, as well as offer professional development opportunities to high school instructors who are currently part of the Consortium. As soon as more information is available, we will communicate it with you. I appreciate your patience.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you,

Jaime Jaime Cardenas Jr, PhD
