Adding and Dropping classes

  • All students must make a registration/advising appointment in advance of registration;
  • Students may only register with a Running Start advisor;
  • Students cannot register or add/drop classes online;
  • Most add/drops do not require an appointment. However, Running Start advisors are not always available on a walk-in basis. It is best to make an appointment to ensure an advisor is available to sign an add/drop form or to change classes;
  • It is always recommended to make registration appointments as early as possible for best course selection and to avoid waitlists. Classes fill up very quickly;
  • As of the first day of the quarter the waitlist is closed and students will need to attend the class they want get an instructor’s signature if approved. A Running Start advisor’s signature is also required;
  • After the 10th day of the quarter it is no longer possible to add a class unless the class has not started yet;
  • After the 10th day of the quarter an instructor’s signature is required to drop a class. A Running Start signature is also required. A W standing for withdrawal will appear on the student’s college and high school;
  • After the 8th week of the quarter students can no longer withdraw;
  • Please review the college’s academic calendar for specific add/drop dates for each quarter.
