Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary
Certificate
15 Units
In Washington state, the Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) is a licensed dental professional who works closely with dentists to increase productivity in several technical areas such as placing direct restorations (fillings). These skills are in high demand as very few dental hygienists are able to place restorations due to the current demand for periodontal care. EFDAs are employed in both private practices and community health clinics.
Seattle Central's EFDA program is designed for the working Dental Assistant who is interested in expanding their skills. This is a part-time program, and lab sessions are held only on Saturdays.
