About the Conference: 
The Students of Color Conference (SOCC) is put on by a network of EDI officers across the Community & Technical Colleges in Washington State and aims to support students of color in their professional and personal development through their education journey.

2024 conference theme: Joyful Reunion. 
Conference Date: April 18th through the 20th  
Location: Green River College

Who Can Apply & What Is Covered:

Office of EDIC and Student Leadership have partnered up this year to sponsor 12 students and 2 advisors to attend this conference.

 

Conference registration, transportation, and snacks for the road will be provided. Meals will be provided at the conference. Selected students do not have to pay out of pocket for any conference-related costs but will be responsible for personal purchases from conference vendors or additional meals. 

 

The 12 students and 2 advisors cap are set by the conference and cannot be exceeded. 

 

We are offering interest sessions for all students and advisors who are interested in learning more about the conference and hoping to apply.

  • March 14 – Central registration form closes.  
  • March 20 – Conference acceptance messages go out 
  • April 10th - Pre-Conference Session for all accepted students 
    • 1 to 3 pm, In Person, Student Leadership Conf Room
  • April 18th to 20th - Students of Color Conference at Green River College
  • April 25th - Post-Conference Debrief for student attendees
    • Exact time & location to be announced
