We serve low income parents and students from all backgrounds who desire to continue their education. Our diverse group of staff members is here to answer your questions, provide encouragement and share resources available to enhance your educational process. |
For Our Neighbors in the Community The Women’s Programs & WorkFirst Services office is a resource at Seattle Central Community College. We provide assistance to students, both male and female, in identifying and reaching their educational and career goals, providing some tuition assistance and employment information. |
For TANF or Low-Income Parents WorkFirst Services offers assistance and support to TANF and low-income parents who want to pursue their educational goals and prepare for employment. We also offer short-term training programs and financial aid for parents currently receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). For more information, please call (206) 587-3854. |
For All Seattle Central Students The Women’s Programs & WorkFirst Services office also offers scholarship information, community resource information and volunteer/internship opportunities. We have a varying collection of books, magazines and articles about Women's Studies, Health Care, Job Search, Reproductive Rights and Political Issues. Every Thursday from 10:00 - 12:00PM, an outreach worker from the King County Public Health Department is available at the Women’s Programs & WorkFirst Services office to help students in need apply for free or low-cost health insurance for themselves and their children, as well as applying for financial assistance with electric and water bills. |
