Health Insurance Information

Seattle Central Community College does not provide health insurance to students. However, students enrolled in six or more credits are eligible to apply for a health and medical insurance policy through Summit America Insurance Services, L. C., www.summitamerica-ins.com. Students needing health insurance but are enrolled in less than six credits can apply for Washington State Basic Health Insurance, www.basichealth.hca.wa.gov. Applications for both are available in the Student Leadership Office.

Locker Information

Student Leadership has lockers that are available for student to rent for $10 per quarter. They are located at the bottom of the stairs behind the Atrium near the 1702 Harvard Entrance.

How To Get A Locker:
  • Get a lock
  • Find an empty locker & put your lock on it
  • Come to the Student Leadership Office with locker #.
  • Fill out the paperwork, pay the $10, and we’ll give you a receipt.

The lockers are regularly monitored and lockers found to be in use without having paid the rental fee are emptied and the contents discarded.

Tabling Requests

Departments, student clubs, or other organizations of Seattle Central Community College may reserve space to table in the main building on the first, third, or fourth floor or in the lobby of the Science And Math Building.

Departments, instructors, and other affiliates of SCCC may submit a Tabling Request Form to the Front Desk Office Assistant. Please call (206) 587-6924, or email TPethe@sccd.ctc.edu, to check for availability.

Student Organizations must contact the Student Involvement Coordinator in order to arrange a time and date to table. Please call (206) 516-3165, or email TViradet@sccd.ctc.edu, to make arrangements.

Priority is given to:
  • Student Organizations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
  • College Transfer Center on Tuesdays
  • Career Center on Thursdays
Tables are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. ALL TABLING REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST TWO FULL BUSINESS DAYS IN ADVANCE.

In order to have a table anywhere on campus outside organizations must be sponsored by a department, student club, or other organization of Seattle Central Community College. The organization’s purpose must be directly related to the college’s educational mission or justified by their contributions to the cultural, social, or economic development of the state. If a student organization invites an outside organization, at least one currently enrolled student from the student organization must be present at all times.

Student Complaints

The Student Leadership Office is also responsible for assisting students with student complaints and generally serving as an advocate for students in matters related to their interests and concerns. The Dean of Student Life and Engagement, Lexie Evans, is the Designated Complaints Officer for Seattle Central. Make an appointment with her if you have a complaint about a person or policy on campus that needs to be resolved. Click here for guidelines.

Student Leadership Room Reservations

Two rooms on campus, BE1110/1111 (capacity 150) and SAC 210 (capacity 80), are specifically set aside for priority use by students for events and activities. Arrangements for student groups to use these rooms can be made through the Student Involvement Coordinator (206) 516-3165, according to the process outlined in the Student Leadership Club Handbook.

Both spaces, when not required for student activities, can be reserved for use by the campus community. Five business days advance notice is generally required. Inquiries about availability can be made to the Student Leadership Front Desk: (206) 587-6924.

Once the space is reserved by Student Leadership, separate arrangements must be made with Campus Services (206) 587-6931, by the user for any necessary equipment or set up.
