FAQ
-
Where do I log in?
-
Who has an account?
All registered students have accounts made automatically.
-
How do I find out my user name?
-
What is my email address?
Find your user name using the
wifi account list and put
@seattlecentral.edu on the end of it.
For example, if my username is jdoe9999, my email address is
jdoe9999@seattlecentral.edu.
-
What is my password?
When you first log in, you
will use the last 6 digits of your SID#. Once you've logged in, you will
choose a new password. This new password will only be used for the Seattle
Central email system. It will not affect the 'O' drive or student web accounts
or any other services.
Please choose a password that is hard to guess and easy to remember. Do not share your password with anyone and never send a password over email.
-
I forgot my new password!
No problem! You can reset your password to the last 6 digits of your SID#.
You'll have to choose another password when you first log in. To reset your
password, go
here.
-
Do people at Google know my password?
No. Google has an encrypted hash created from your password.
-
But, I already have a gmail account...
While this system is hosted by google and it works just like gmail, it is
separate. You can have both a gmail account and a Seattle Central email using
Google Apps. You can even be logged into both simultaneously.
-
I already have an email account, and I don't want to check another one.
You can set up your Seattle Central mail to forward to your favorite account.
This lets people like your instructors send email to your seattlecentral.edu email address, and lets you read it from the account of your choice.
To set up mail forwarding follow these steps:
- Log onto your Seattle Central email account
- Click the link titled 'Settings' in the upper right corner
- Click the tab titled 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP'
- Click the radio button next to 'Forward a copy of incoming mail to'
- Type your preferred email address into the text box
- Click the button labeled 'Save Changes'

Other Questions?
Please read the 'Help' pages on the email system or talk to the folks in the
student lab in BE 3148 if you have questions. Even if they don't know the answers, they can find the people who do.
This FAQ should grow as we get
more questions from users.
