Financial Information

Tuition and Fee Deposits by Wire Transfer

Seattle Central accepts wire transfers of tuition and fees for students’ first quarter of study.

General Guidelines on Wire Transfers

·        A completed Wire Transfer Notification Form must be submitted to Seattle Central, along with the bank receipt for the wire transfer. Wire transfers will not be processed until these documents have been submitted and all required information has been provided on the form.

·        Wired funds can take up to 5 business days to appear in Seattle Central’s account, depending on the routing from the sending bank and other issues beyond our control. Please refer to payment deadlines, and ensure that wire transfer funds are available at the time of registration. Payments not received by registration may result in serious problems for the student, including the inability to attend classes or use campus facilities.

·        Costs associated with housing and miscellaneous expenses should not be wired to the college. For information on costs associated with these items, visit http://seattlecentral.edu/international/financial_req.shtml .

·        Refunds: Wire transfers can be refunded if the funds have not already been used to pay for specified fees or tuition. The transfer will be refunded to the sender listed in the Wire Transfer Notification Form. In the event that the sender is not indicated, refunds will be sent directly to the student. Any bank fees associated with a wired refund will be deducted from the wired funds.

Seattle Central Community College
2008 – 2009 Quarterly Tuition and Fees*

Students should be prepared to pay their quarterly tuition and fees at the time of registration.
Payments not received by registration may result in serious problems for the student, including the inability to attend classes or use campus facilities.

You may use the following guidelines for assistance in calculating approximate quarterly tuition and fees. The cost of ESL classes differs from the cost of college classes, so exact tuition and fee amounts for students who take a combination of ESL and College classes will be determined upon registration.  Payment may be made prior to or after student’s arrival in Seattle, depending on who is responsible for the payment.

Steps for sending the Wire Transfer

1.     Follow procedures at your bank for making a wire transfer, using the following information:

Seattle Central Community College
Bank of America –Broadway Branch
230 Broadway Ave. East
Seattle, WA  98102
Tel: (206) 358-2086
Bank Routing Number: 026009593
Bank Account Number:15319312
SWIFT: BOFAUS3N

2.      Be sure that the student’s name, SID number (if available), and date of birth are included in the wire transfer payment details (include information for all students included in the wire).

3.      Fax or e-mail the Wire Transfer Notification Form and the bank receipt from the wire transfer to Seattle Central’s International Education Programs office (e-mail: iepsccc@sccd.ctc.edu or fax: 206-587-3868). Wire transfers will not be processed without both of these documents.

4.      Allow up to 5 business days for the wire transfer to be received by Seattle Central’s bank and to be ready for use.

5.      For tuition payments: students must follow the guidelines for using the wire transfer (below) in order for the wire transfer to be applied to quarterly tuition charges.

Processing the payment after arrival (student’s responsibility):

·        After registering for classes, students should come to the International Student Center and tell the staff that their tuition payment was sent by wire transfer.

·        A staff member will check to ensure that the Wire Transfer Notification Form, bank receipt and the wired funds have been received.

·        Note: If we have not received all three of these items, we will not be able to process payment following registration.  Students should contact their parents or their agent to ensure that the wire is sent on time, and that the proper forms (Wire Transfer Notification Form and bank wiring receipt) are sent to Seattle Central as quickly as possible.

·        After funds are verified, our staff will create a billing statement indicating the amount of tuition and fees due, and the amount of the wired funds to be applied to your account. This billing statement must be taken to the cashier’s office by the student for processing. A payment will not be processed until the cashiers receive this completed billing statement.

·        Students should register in the registration office before paying their tuition with the cashiers’ office.

You can not attend class unless you have paid your tuition and fees.
