College Transfer Program (Associate's Degree)

International Students planning to earn a bachelor's degree begin their college studies at Seattle Central. Many college transfer majors are available, including Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Music and other programs in the Arts & Sciences.

In the College Transfer program, students earn an Associate of Arts degree or an Associate of Science degree. As is the case with all community colleges in the U.S., Seattle Central does not offer any bachelor's, graduate, or post-graduate degree programs.

An associate's degree takes two years, or 90 credits, and is transferable to a four-year university. After students complete their associate's degree, they can transfer to a four-year college or university and complete a bachelor's degree by taking two more years of study in their major

Pathways, Partnerships and Student Success Stories

Seattle Central is well-known for graduating international students with extremely high academic qualifications -- and many universities visit Seattle Central to participate in our semi-annual International Student Transfer fairs (click here for an overview of college transfer pathways, university partnerships and student success stories).

In fact, here is a list of some of the four year colleges and universities our international students have been accepted to since 1994. Students appreciate our lower tuition cost and small classes. ( Find out what the advantages are for attending a community college.)

Seattle Central also offers college transfer applicants the opportunity to receive an Admission Guarantee from one of its partner institutions at the time of acceptance.

Although many of our students have transferred to well-known universities, please note that completion of your studies at Seattle Central Community College does not ensure entrance into a specific four-year institution. Transfer to a four-year university is not guaranteed by Seattle Central Community College and students granted admission to a university must meet the specific entrance requirements of that institution. If you intend on transferring, the college recommends that you utilize our College Transfer Center's services, attend our International Student Transfer fairs or contact that university to obtain detailed entrance requirements.
