A club in Focus: Seattle Central Soccer Club

The Seattle Central Soccer Club was created in the fall of 2005 by a small group of international students who just wanted to play "football" and bring a little of their passion for the game to the United States. Since then, more than 70 players from all over the world have joined them to form the largest club on campus. Nearly every continent is represented with the exception of Australia and Antarctica!

What started as informal games between a few international students has now grown into a large organization which involves both international and domestic students.
The Seattle Central Soccer Club is an amazing opportunity for students to play their favorite game, relax after class, make new friends, and also become involved in a meaningful organization on campus. The club is run by its student members who volunteer their time and skills. Members have many ways to participate including: planning training sessions; reserving fields for practices and games; voting standards of conduct; participating in campus fairs and fundraising events; and many more activities linked to the life of their club and team.

In 2006, a team from the Seattle Central Soccer Club participated in the Greater Seattle Soccer League and "All Nations Cup" for local community colleges and obtained great results; the team finished 1st in the Greater Seattle Soccer League (GSSL) 2A division and won the Edmonds' "all Nations Cup".

Now, the Seattle Central Soccer Club needs your skills! If you've got game and want to be part of this great organization, contact Hieu Dong at mihiestty@gmail.com or just show up at practice: the team usually meets twice a week at the Bobby Morris playfield, located behind the campus bookstore (contact Hieu for days and times).

Go CENTRAL!
