Seattle - the city I call 'home'
by Nadia Canosa

Nadia Canosa from Buenos Aires, Argentina tells us about her love for Seattle

When I first came to Seattle more than a year ago, I didn't know anything about the city that later on I would consider my 'home.' But little by little I started to feel attached to this beautiful small big city and I will try to explain why.

Yes, I do miss my family and friends back in Buenos Aires, but I feel so happy and comfortable here that I can endure that feeling much better.

My college is located on Capitol Hill, an eclectic neighborhood with its own rhythm and personality. It's also just a five-minute walk to downtown Seattle. The location couldn't be better because it's very easy to get there, either by bus, by car or by walking, like I do! I really love this city's spirit, its diversity. Different ethnicities, ages, backgrounds all come together to build this incredible small community.

One of the advantages this city has is its size. It's neither big nor small; it's just right. And it's also very international. Famous performers and artists from all over the world come to perform here and your chances to get good tickets are excellent, unlike other more crowded cities.

"In the summertime, Seattle enjoys sunlight from five in the morning to ten at night!"

In terms of fun, Seattle offers a lot: an endless variety of restaurants, theaters, great museums and art galleries, a beautiful opera house, professional football, baseball and basketball teams, night clubs and of course, the famous Pike Place Market.

During the summer, Seattle is probably the best place in the world to live! We enjoy sunlight from five in the morning to ten at night, and it doesn't get too hot; it's always about 80°F, just unbelievable!

Seattle is also a paradise for outdoor activities: rock climbing, trekking, rafting, mountain biking and mountain climbing, just to name a few of the exciting activities you can enjoy here. People from all over the world come to Seattle to attempt to climb Mt. Rainier (14,409 feet), the 2 nd tallest mountain in the U.S. after Mt. McKinley (20,320 feet) in Alaska.

I think that every city has a reason for us to love her. And for me, it's impossible not to love Seattle, the city that has offered me so much: great outdoor activities, plenty of night life options, new friends, and an awesome educational experience.
