1. What is your full name?
YiLin Zhu.
2. What country do you come from?
(Mainland) China.
3. Describe your program of study.
I'm enrolled in the College Transfer Program at Seattle Central, and I am currently in my second
quarter.
4. What are your plans and goals for the future?
I plan to transfer to a 4-year university in future. After I graduate, I hope I can have an
opportunity to work in the U.S. in order to earn some practical experience. My major is International
Business, thus I also hope I can get familiar with America's business world, which will make my future
career much easier for me.
5. Do you think Seattle Central is helping you achieve your goals? Why or why not?
I definitely believe Seattle Central will be my strong key to help me become successful in future.
As an international student, it's very difficult to get admission to the famous American universities
directly, but it will be much easier by transferring if I have good grades.
6. How would you describe Seattle?
I think Seattle is quieter and safer compared with the other main cities in America, so it is a very
good place for studying. People here are very nice and friendly, and the environment is very natural.
I even can see a lot of squirrels on my way to school.
7. How would you describe Seattle Central Community College?
Seattle Central Community College has a very top-notch group of faculty, a variety of study programs,
and a great language environment, in addition to lots of great resources that are open to all the students for free.
8. What are the biggest differences between life in your country and life in Seattle?
In Seattle Central we have really small classes, so each student will receive more personal attention.
Thus I got more opportunity to communicate with my instructors. And the teachers here are really very nice
and helpful.
9. Is there anything else you'd like to say to prospective students in your country who might be reading this?
I think Seattle Central Community College is a perfect first academic stop for the ESL student.
The small classes, more personal attention, and great English environment have all helped me get used to
the culture, language and study easier than I expected. So as a student of Seattle Central, I do strongly
recommend my college to you. Please check more information on our website, as you may find it helpful to
