Meet our Students
Back to introduction
1. What is your full name?
Thinh Xuan Ta (Vince).
2. What country do you come from?
I'm from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is a big, crowded and lively city in Southeast Asia.
3. Describe your program of study.
I started my education in the US as an exchange student in Kentucky.
Then I continued my studies at Seattle Central. I will graduate in Winter 2007 with an Associate
Degree in Business.
4. What are your plans and goals for the future?
My current goal is to transfer to a good business university.
I am interested in the
fields of Finance and International Management.
My goal for the future is to pursue a business career
at which I will have the opportunity to be creative and travel as much as possible.
5. Do you think Seattle Central is helping you achieve your goals? Why or why not?
Seattle Central is definitely a good choice for me. I am satisfied with the quality of education
provided here. Besides, the class size is mostly small, and the diversity present here is incredible.
Thus, Seattle Central as a community college is a great step for me to get ready into my university
programs.
6. How would you describe Seattle?
Seattle is really worth your experience. Even though it does rain a lot in Seattle as you may know,
it will not stop you to get out and enjoy different activities. Downtown Seattle is beautiful at night.
And if you are a big fan of sports like me, you will be happy to live here because Seatle represents
a professional football team (the Seahawks), a basketball team (the Sonics), a baseball team
(the Mariners), a soccer team
(the Sounders) and plus...
7. How would you describe Seattle Central Community College?
Seattle Central is about 10 minutes-walking from downtown, which is a big advantage.
Even though the school is small in size, it does provide a lot of facilities for students such as
a library, computer lab, gym, international student center, etc... Also as I mentioned before,
the quality of education here is good and the environment is very diverse.
8. What are the biggest differences between life in your country and life in Seattle?
Most people in Vietnam travel by motocycles, not by vehicles like in the US. Besides, living in
Ho Chi Minh City is faster-paced than over here,
as I believe.
It seems like Ho Chi Minh City never goes to sleep.
9. Is there anything else you'd like to say to prospective students in your country who might be reading this?
Seattle Central provides an English as Secondary Language program, which I think is
a great opportunity for international students who want to study English or even begin an
education in the US. So take a look at the school's website, do some more research; Seattle Central
may be the perfect fit for you.
