Meet our Students
Back to introduction
1. What is your full name?
Waraporn Srikanjanapert(Nui).
2. What country do you come from?
Thailand.
3. How long have you lived in the United States?
About three years.
4. What is your favorite place in Seattle?
Seattle has so many magnificent and beautiful places to visit. My favorite places in Seattle are Washington Park Arboretum, and Green Lake. Actually, there are a lot of attractive parks in Seattle, but both of these parks are pretty close to the place where I live. So I always love to go there when I have time.
5. What do you enjoy most about SCCC?
Diversity is the best definition of SCCC. I enjoy spending time at school with friends who come from all countries around the world such as Japan, China, Korea, France, Spain, Russia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Nigeria, and America. Since I have begun taking classes here, I have never felt lonely. I am having a lot of fun, and I enjoy working as a student worker here as well.
6. What are your plans for the future?
I am enrolled in the Web Design Program, and I am also working as the Web Designer for the International Education Programs website. All I can say is just, "Thanks SCCC for giving me great experiences." I just hope the experience that I got here will help me to find a good future job in my country. I have fallen in love with being a Web Designer.
7. What are the biggest differences between life in your country and life in Seattle?
There are so many differences between living in Thailand and Seattle. The biggest thing is about "language." I was shocked when I first came here, even though I had studied English in my country. Well, now I really know the best way to learn other languages is to learn them with native speakers.
8. What do you consider to be your biggest accomplishments? Why?
Indeed, learning more about English is one of my biggest accomplishments. Also another biggest accomplishment of mine is to be able to live here by myself. I had to be very patient to fight the loneliness and to find the best way how to study in English. Now I feel more confident and I am getting ready to go back to the real business world.
