Meet our Students
Back to introduction
1. What is your full name?
Anna Lindahl.
2. What country do you come from?
Sweden.
3. Describe your program of study.
I'm a college student majoring in Political science. I want to get my A.A. degree, so I can transfer to a university and eventually become a professor.
4. What are your plans and goals for the future?
My main goal is to become a professor of philosophy and political science. My other goals include going to southern Africa and seeing friends and family.
5. Do you think Seattle Central is helping you achieve your goals? Why or why not?
Yes, SCCC is helping me achieve one of my most important goals - getting my A.A. degree.
6. How would you describe Seattle?
Seattle is not so much a city but a beautiful town - where people are laidback and dress very casual. It's almost impossible to meet someone not wearing jeans! I love that Seattle is close to the mountains and water because it gives the town a feel and look of serenity - that once again is very beautiful.
7. How would you describe Seattle Central Community College?
It's a mix and match of all kinds of events, classes and all kinds of people -
some of us moving in a clear direction and some not. I love that this is a place where you
get a feeling of belonging - where no one is left out.
I love the cultural diversity and that teachers take an interest in international students.
8. What are the biggest differences between life in your country and life in Seattle?
The weather and the people. Stockholm is colder and people and everything is fast paced. Here everything moves slower and few seem to miss out on their morning coffee or breakfast.
9. Is there anything else you’d like to say to prospective students in your country who might be reading this?
SCCC is great space to be in - but it will take some time before you become accustomed to the American way or handling things in a much slower way.
