Whether you would like to...

complete a paid internship after finishing your degree program

or

volunteer in a non-profit organization while enrolled in a program of your choice...

SCCC has the resources and contacts to make your experience meaningful - both personally and professionally!

American Internship Experience:

The American Internship Experience combines academic study with the benefits of career training, cross-cultural training, job skill preparation and an internship with a US business or organization. Click here for more details on the Internship Certificate..

Service Learning/Volunteerism:

Service Learning/Volunteerism combines academic study in a variety of fields with community involvement in non-profit organizations.

Opportunities for Practical Training:

Most certificate and degree programs longer than 9 months provide opportunities for students to receive special permission for practical training, which allows them to work off-campus in paid internships related to their field of study. Depending on the major, students may apply for permission to work for up to one year after completing their academic program (click here for more information on Practical Training).

SCCC support includes:

  • hundreds of employer contacts and job opportunities, paid and unpaid
  • personalized assistance in many areas, including resume and cover letter critique and guidance, and interview preparation
  • specific college class assignments that link students with volunteer learning opportunities
  • Assistance in requesting permission for practical training
