1. How much does it cost to study at Seattle Central Community College?
We estimate that the average student should have at least US$15,000 to cover living expenses and tuition for one academic year (9 months). This is a conservative estimate: many students may need more than this. Tuition for the college program is approximately US$7,900 for 9 months; for the Institute of English, it is $7,200.
2. How can I get a scholarship?
Seattle Central Community College offers scholarships for international students each quarter. You can apply for the scholarship when you apply to the college by completing the scholarship application and submitting the necessary documents. It is important to know that this scholarship is NOT financial aid. Seattle Central scholarships are merit based rather than need based. The scholarship award is not sufficient to cover the expense of studying and living in the US. Students must be accepted to the college and have sufficient funds to receive an I-20 in order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
3. Can international students work on campus at Seattle Central?
Many international students have jobs on campus. In fact, the International Education Programs office has a free job-referral service that helps international students find on-campus employment. In general, jobs require good communication skills in English. After attending orientation and registering for classes, you can complete an international student job application in the IEP office, and your application will be referred when the IEP office is notified of job openings meeting your qualifications and schedule.
