Every year, 10,000 American students and 650 international students from more than 50 countries choose Seattle Central Community College. Like most community colleges, Seattle Central has an outstanding faculty, small classes, personal attention, and low tuition. Here are some other facts about Seattle Central:

  • Seattle Central is the only community college located in beautiful, downtown Seattle, Washington.
  • Seattle Central was founded in 1966 and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Seattle Central is part of the Seattle Community College District, which serves all of metropolitan Seattle and its surrounding communities, and comprises the largest community college district in the state, educating nearly 55,000 students each year.
  • Seattle Central offers a variety of program options for students, including:
  • College Transfer: Students study for 2 years at Seattle Central and then transfer to a 4-year university to complete a Bachelor's degree.
  • College Bridge: This part-time college, part-time English language program allows students to take the language classes they need, and the college classes they want!
  • Intensive ESL: Students learn English and then enter college classes directly - there's no college entrance testing required!
  • Workforce Education (Professional/Technical): Students choose from more than 35 career training programs (1 - 2 years) in exciting fields such as biotechnology and apparel design.
  • High School Completion: Students can earn an Associate's Degree AND high school diploma together through our Fast Track program.
  • Short-Term Certificates: Students study one subject of choice for 3 - 15 months; they can add an internship, too, if they like!
  • International Internships: Students receive academic training plus guided workforce preparation, leading to a work opportunity in a local company.
