Seattle Central International Education Programs (IEP) encourages a complete student experience in Seattle. The Intercultural Activities Board (IAB) has many special programs to help students practice English and feel at home in Seattle.
From trips and social activities to educational workshops, we are dedicated to providing a rewarding experience for our students both inside and outside the classroom.

We have lots of activities coming up this quarter full of FUN!
Join our Intercultural Activities Board, and other international students to spend
a wonderful time together, make more friends, share experience and just hang around and have a fun time!

If you want to join an activity, be sure to sign up in the Intercultural Activities Board (IAB) Office in Room 205H, MAC building (behind the game room)! When you come to sign up, we will give you a handout with more information such as where to meet, start / end times, and cost of the activity.

Earth Corps Volunteer Work

Join Earth Corps and the City of Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Dept. in restoring this local park! This forested ravine hosts lush native plant habitat, wetlands, and walking trails.



May 2nd Saturday 2pm-3pm
CHOCOLATE FACTORY TOUR
$6 PER PERSON!!

Join us and bring your sweetheart to Theo, Seattle’s finest chocolate factory, where you can see the fascinating chocolate-making process firsthand and get to sample some delicious treats!




May 16th Saturday
Seattle Mariners Game

Join us and enjoy world class baseball game. Going to a baseball game is a great way to have fun, meet people, and enjoy good food!

Experience Music Project

** ENGLISH CONVERSATION GROUP
every Thursdays, 11:00-12:00
 This group is for all international students interested in practicing conversational English. Come meet some new friends and work on informal English in its American cultural context. Learn some new vocabulary and idioms and discuss them in relation to everyday situations. Free!

** COFFEE TALK -English Conversation with Dinner
Every Friday from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church,
1729 Harvard Avenue (behind SCCC).
Come join us for conversation and dinner – a good way to start your weekend and speak English with native speakers. We are looking forward to meeting you!!

** CONVERSATION PARTNER PROGRAM (Fall, Winter, Spring quarters)
A great opportunity to get an excellent language exchange with American volunteers, Conversation Partners is a free program available to Seattle Central Institute of English students through the International Activities Office of Seattle Central Community College's International Education Programs. Conversation Partners matches international students with other students on campus or community volunteers for informal language and cultural exchanges.

Conversation Partners usually meet about two hours a week for one quarter. Partners are matched by the International Activities Office staff. The staff is available for questions and guidance for the Conversation Partners. The International Activities Office gives the students and volunteers brief cultural awareness training and material useful in encouraging dialogue.
