To distribute your application to user's computer, you need to compile the appication to create an executable file. Also, you need to make sure that the user's computer has .Net Framework Common Language Runtime installed.

Creating an Executable File

  1. In VB .Net, change the Solution Configuration selection to Release from Debug which is the default.
  2. Click on the Build menu on the menu bar, then select Build Solution command.
  3. At the end, you will see the results in Output window as shown below.
  4. Using Windows Explorer, copy the executable file from the bin folder of the project. And paste it in the user's computer.

Installing .Net Framework Common Language Runtime

To run the VB .Net application in a user's computer, the user's computer has to have .Net Framework Common Language Runtime installed. The detail information is available at the MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/technologyinfo/redist/default.aspx).
