"Strategies Instructors Use To Enhance The Education Enviornment For Internationl Learners."
This project explores the variables which affect successful progress of students who are learning in a second language. Studying in a foreign country and/or in a foreign language is challenging students and to their instructors. In addition, the pressure on all students to become globally aware requires that higher education institutions respond whih strategies that will support students success. In the classroom, those stragtegies depend on instructors knowing about culture differences and learning styles. It helps if students are perpared to be culturally and academically challenged.

This site is provided by Dr. Howard Gardner, educator and theorist who developed the concept of multiple intelligences. The site includes an archive of articles written by Dr. Gardner for this sites news letter as well as for other publications. It is very user-friendly and allows the reader to easily learn about and identify his or her own kind of "intelligence." The site was last updated in October l999 and contains the latest information about Dr. Gardner's continuing research. This gives me a first-hand look and interactive option in researching different ways of learning. The site also allows for downloading Dr. Gardner's work and joining an active e-mail list. Because contributors to the newsletters and the e-mail list serve are internationally represented, this site is a good place to interview students and practitioners for my topic.

This site is an excellent current source of information for researching proven teaching techniques and practices that are successful in the international classroom.
