If a test, HW due on Wednesday *If necessary, schedule will be adjusted* Final: See Online Class Schedule Grading Policy: Test 1, 2 (Final): 30% each Focus Project 30% HW & Participation 10% *Tests will be given on Thursday. 90% 3.7 (A-) 80% 3.0 (B) 70% 2.0 (C) 60% 1.0 (D) *Grade adjustments will be made accordingly. Homework: Homework will cover lecture material and chapter reading. Each homework will consist of roughly 4-5 problems in which I’ll only grade a portion of the homework. The problems that will be graded will be a random selection, so don’t try to guess which ones, just do them all. There are NO make-ups, NO exception, which is why I drop your lowest grade on your homework. It is highly recommended to exchange emails and work in groups for the homework. Solutions will be posted online right after we review them, so don’t bother giving it to me once class is over. If you absolutely need to miss class on the HW due date, give it to your friend to pass in. All homework will be passed back the following week before the exam. Group Activities (Wednesday): A group of 4 or 5 students will work on selected questions and present answers to the class. You are required to present to the class at least once over the quarter. Focus Project: This will consist of a group of 4 or 5 students presenting work on one client who has defaulted on their loan. Using the data about your client, make an educated guess about whether the bank should foreclose the loan, or try a workout. Test 1 & 2 (Final): Most of the material will come from the homework, group activities and problem solving. For Final, see Online Class Schedule. Participation: Everyone starts with 5%. However, cell phone use, being disruptive, missing class will decrease your score, especially talking in class. Don’t come to my office hours about points unless it’s an obvious mistake. My teaching style: Remember, I’m a student like everyone else in this class, so I understand a lot the issues of being a student. All I ask are the basics: Golden Rule. I treat everyone with respect and I expect the same in return. Everything that I go over in class will be available through my website, so homework and tests will not be a mystery. If you come to class, participate, turn in the homework, there’s no reason you shouldn’t score well in my class. Students who fail my class: miss class, don’t turn in homework, or are disruptive.
