Introduction: Getting Started
- By way of your introduction,
please write a short biographical sketch and post it to the Student Biography Folder
found in the Class Folder using the new post tab. (Don't be skimpy with your information.
Give us some insight into your past and present. Let your
colleagues know of your status, interests, concerns, goals and
aspirations. Photos are
good!) Next review the bios posted
by other students to become familiar with your colleagues in this
endeavor. You will be working closely with this group of students in
your quest for an understanding of economic theory and its application to
questions and issues of interest.
- You have been assigned to a
study Team for the purpose of group activities and collegial
support. Click on the Communicate tab
and click on Course Roster tab and
finally the Team tab to determine
your assignment to a particular Team (A or B). Contact the members
of your study Team as soon as possible to initiate an exchange of ideas
and coordinate assignments.
- This course requires a high
level of both individual and Team participation. Your participation
will be monitored on an ongoing basis. Your course grade will be
determined, in part, by your level of participation. Please note
that all assignments -
including ad hoc assignments, must be submitted in order to receive any participation points!
- Prior to participation in the
course itself, please carefully work through the program orientation
package.
- Review the Calendar (click on the Calendar tab) to determine due dates for
lessons. (Note: due dates for Ad
Hoc Assignments will be noted in the Ad Hoc Assignment notice).
- Click on the Class tab. Find and click on the Practice Assignment for all Students to get
a feel for the process. Answer the
simple question and click on the Submit tab
to send the answer to me.
- The Distance Learning office
has available "The Author's
Responses to the Questions for Discussion" for
$3.00. This is a requirement for successful completion of the
course.
- As this is a college level course I
expect accurate spelling. You might do well to locate a dictionary next to
your computer or familiarize yourself with online dictionaries. Spelling
is an important component to college work!
- I teach several courses every
quarter – online, correspondence, ant traditional classroom classes. It is, therefore, important to fully
identify yourself and your course when communicating with me:
- Full name
- Course number: ECO
100, 200 or 201
- Course modality:
online, correspondence, or traditional classroom
Remember: Always check Announcements for course and system related announcements.
