LEARNING COMMUNITY/CSP

Q. What is a CSP?

A. CSP stands for Coordinated Studies Program and is a type of learning community that explores a major theme from a variety of academic disciplines.  For the entire quarter, a team of faculty and students use creative and critical thinking to explore important issues and concerns.  Students enroll for the total program (13 to 18 credits) which is generally considered a full course load.  Each program is taught by a team of two or more diverse faculty members who conduct lectures, lead student seminars, field trips and group projects.  Additionally, these interactive programs may include use of the internet, music, video, guest speakers – anything but your traditional classroom fare. CSPs count as IS credits toward your AA transfer degree.
