This course focuses on the specialist skills needed for
Support Service Provider training. Cultural norms and etiquette,
guiding and safety issues, introductory information on commonly used
communication modes of the Deaf-Blind, communication of environmental
and visual information for guiding and support are emphasized through
interactive instruction, blindfold experiences, simulations, guided
practice, and guest presentations by Deaf-Blind people. The
purpose of this course is to prepare students with essential skills
and training needed to become a well-rounded Support Service Provider
for the Deaf-Blind.
