DEAF-BLIND Classes

5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Attended DB Class: Topic was “Cold Remedies” I observed a certified interpreter doing tactile interpreting and a DI doing platform interpreting, I find it harder to copy sign than to listen and interpret. I also observed some DI and student interpreters, they were really good in general. I also learned some new sign words: colds, germs,  infection etc.

Socialization in the Deaf Community

5-9 pm

I attended Deaf night at Jillians. There was a good crowd, about 150 people, I think about half are Deaf. I played pool with a group of 6 people, 4 are Deaf. I learned some new cool signs such as BAD, COOL, Eyes-bug-out etc.

10-12 noon

I attended the Deaf Church in Everett. The service was all in ASL. It was a very inspiring sermon. I also enjoyed the signed songs in ASL. I chatted with some people after the service. I learned some new ideas how to interpret music. It was fun.
