Creating a
Business Card
First decide what you will include on your business card.
What pertinent information should be included?
1. Name
2. Certification (if any, or
training if not certified)
3. Business telephone number
(voice, mobile, FAX, tty etc)
4. E-mail address (optional)
5. Business address (if you have
a PO box or PMB otherwise do NOT include it)
Tips:
- 1: It is best to keep the information clear and simple
- 2: Never include your home address!! (this is for
privacy and personal safety)
If you need
to include your home address, write it down on the back
of the card.
- 3: Keep plenty of cards on hand in your briefcase, purse
or wallet. Never leave home without them.
- 4. It is not a good idea to print information on the
back as 85% of the time receivers do not check the back of the card! (see #2
above)
- 5. Remember if you include email address to create a
professional email address for business.

Options in Creating Your Own Business Cards:
- You may create your own business cards using templates
from the computer such as Microsoft or other companies OR
- Use Vistaprint.com to create free business cards. You
can choose the design and what to include on the card. See above examples.
(you only pay shipping fees which is really very inexpensive but you’ll need
to do it soon in order to include this in your portfolio)
- Use Vistaprint or other printers to create your own
business cards for a fee.
You must create and submit a business card design. If you use Vistaprint,
be sure to copy and paste the picture of your business card and hand it in by
the due date.
