| Credit-by-exam |
|
Credit-by-exam provides a special opportunity
for students with extensive life experiences to receive college
credit for that knowledge. Seattle Central recognizes the rich
and varied ways individuals learn throughout their lives and
provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate academic
competency by passing a course equivalency examination. Course
equivalency examinations could be paper and pencil examinations,
but could also include oral presentations, demonstrations,
documentation of previous training, or other appropriate methods
determined by the instructor. Students who successfully pass
such an examination will earn college credit for the course.
Full-time fees paid by students who have been admitted to
Seattle Central are not applicable to these courses.
Credit-by-exam courses are not covered by financial aid
and do not meet federal requirements for loan deferment
purposes.
All Credit-by-exam program courses are transferable college
credits. However, if they are to be part of a student's A.A.,
A.S., A.A.S., or B.A. degree, the diploma or degree-granting
institution reserves the right to determine course(s)
eligibility. Students desiring to transfer credits to another
college or university should check with the institutions prior
to enrolling in a credit-by-exam course.
