About Us

Professional and Continuing Education is part of the College’s Office for Corporate Partnerships and Business Development. Its mission is “To provide quality and responsive life-long learning experiences that respond to the changing needs of our community.”

Today, PCE is headed by an executive dean with nearly 30 full-time and part-time staff plus 250 or so instructors teaching in non-credit and credit-based courses, classes and workshops each quarter. A small group is involved in educational products development and multi-media production.

The non-credit component is comprised of community education classes, certification programs.

Contract training includes credit and non-credit classes for government, public agencies and organizations and corporations.

Self-support credit-class programs include Parent Education, Child and Family Studies, Co-op Education, International Study Abroad, Teacher Training, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, Opticianry, and Correspondence Courses.

Special Projects encompass development of the nation-wide Sustainability Building Adviser Training Program, online training products, sustainability training classes, health care print and digital text books, training for delegations from overseas, summer high school youth programs.
