Basic & Transitional Studies offers a variety of programs to help learners of all levels, providing the education needed to prepare for college and career readiness.

Adult Basic Education (ABE)

Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are for adults who are already proficient in the English language but wish to improve their basic reading, writing and math skills. ABE classes are also for a student whose COMPASS test results require that they improve their basic skills before they head into college–level courses. Learn more and enroll

General Educational Development (GED®)

GED prep classes are available to prepare for taking the GED® test, a placement test that qualifies one for college–level courses. Learn more

English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are offered to help non–native speakers to communicate in English.Learn more and enroll

Integrated Basic Education & Skills Training (I–BEST)

Integrated Basic Education & Skills Training (I–BEST) programs create opportunities at the basic skills level for both ESL and ABE students to enroll in college–level programs and earn a certificate in a high–demand industry. Learn more


We also offer classes for high school graduates that need to brush up on reading, writing and math skills before beginning college–level courses. Emphasized skills will help students prepare for placement tests, including the COMPASS. Learn more and enroll
