PhotoVoice: Art in Living

August 1 to 16

South Park PhotoVoice is a 7-week workshop designed and taught by local photographer Hugo LudeÀa and writer Connie Cerna, in which area youth receive basic and advanced photography and writing instruction. Intended as a vehicle for social change, their work is meant to foster and strengthen community ties, generate conversation on local issues, and to engage civil leaders.

Through this exhibit of their visual and written stories, Latino youth offer us a snapshot of their world. In capturing the daily scenes, faces and celebrations that comprise their daily lives, these young artists provoke viewers to change their preconceived notions and stereotypes of Seattle's South Park neighborhood and its residents.
