Etapas y Tūchnicas para la Vida
June 26 to August 17
M. Rosetta Hunter Art Gallery presents "Etapas y Técnicas," a solo exhibition by Seattle artist René Julio. In this body of work, Julio explores stages of life from birth to death, interpreting themes of sadness, happiness, creation, death and migration. Julio's work, rendered in several different media including oil, drawing, low-relief woodcut and tempera, documents significant events and milestones in his life both lived and envisioned.
Julio's insightful and sensitive treatment of life's stages (etapas) conjures up feelings of temporal multiplicity within life's continuum by tapping into universal elements of lived experience. His work has been prominently featured both in the Seattle area and in his home town of Mexico City.
