Executive Order 9066:
50 Years Before and 50 Years After
January 4 to February 3
Executive Order 9066, issued in the days following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, resulted in the forced removal and incarceration of 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry. Through the use of text, image, and artifacts, this traveling exhibit, courtesy of the Wing Luke Asian Museum, traces the development of Seattle's Japanese American community, its incarceration due to EO9066, and its important contributions to the civil rights struggle.
