Core Team
Seattle Central Community College's Core Team is comprised of a diverse representation from across the college: transfer, workforce, basic skills, student services, administrators and other staff are collaborating with the Data Team and college community to integrate Achieving the Dream. The Core Team manages the process for institution-wide dialogue about data findings, goals and strategies; it works with and through the institution councils, departments and divisions to adopt strategies for improving student success.
Recent Planning
The implementation proposal was approved during summer 2007. It identified the following three priorities:
- Increase the number of students who successfully complete developmental English and math classes and transition to college credit-bearing courses
- Increase the number of students re-enrolling from one academic term to the next
- Increase enrollment and successful completion of gatekeeper courses
The proposal outlined several strategies for increasing student success at Seattle Central:
- Creation of a Learning Support Network (LSN)
- Implementing supplemental instruction
- Enhancing tutoring
- Sponsoring and coordinating faculty development
- Developing learning materials and resources
